Two FBI agents killed and others injured in shootout in Sunrise, Florida

The Miami Herald reports that at least one agent was killed and others injured while serving a warrant at a Sunrise home Tuesday morning, citing law enforcement sources. The third injured agent didn't need to be hospitalized, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said.

In a separate statement, FBI Director Christopher Wray identified the slain agents as Special Agent Daniel Alfin and Special Agent Laura Schwartzenberger.

The alleged shooter is also dead, according to a statement released by the FBI Miami Division.

"The FBI will always honor their ultimate sacrifice and will be forever grateful for their bravery". Three other agents were wounded, two of which were transported to a local hospital. The agents had arrived to serve a federal search warrant in connection with a case involving violent crimes against children, Leverock said. "The review process is thorough and objective and is conducted as expeditiously as possible under the circumstances", said the statement, issued by FBI Miami Public Information Officer Jim Marshall.
