Tonight Cadillac will officially present the Blackwing versions of its CT4-V and CT5-V sedans - but not before getting in one last teaser.

The 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing will go on sale in the USA late in the northern summer of 2021.

The CT4-V Blackwing gets numerous upgrades over the regular CT4-V.

Hats off to GM and Cadillac for keeping the radical gasoline-powered super sedan alive in a time where it seems every new vehicle is an electric crossover SUV. The ongoing 2.7-litre four-cylinder turbocharged mill is replaced by ATS-V's 3.6-litre twin-turbo V6 power plant. The CT5-V Blackwing has a 6.2-liter supercharged 668-hp V-8 engine with 659 pound-feet of torque. We can expect that, when loaded-up, the Blackwing will be the most well-appointed package in the lineup with a price to boot. Buyers of those will receive a number of exclusive gifts with their purchase, including a certificate of authenticity and enrollment in the Cadillac V-Performance Academy. For now, we only know that the MSRP starts at $84,990, including destination.
