Google to extend work-from-home policy to mid

Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai told Google employees on Monday the company is extending its global voluntary work-from-home option through June 30, 2021 for roles that don't require employees to be in the office.

The move has only been communicated to a small number of staffers, but Google could announce the policy publicly any day now.

On March 10, Google recommended its employees in the USA and Canada work from home if their roles allowed, making it one of the biggest companies in North America at the time to issue a blanket recommendation. Pichai chose to adopt the extended work-from-home guidelines in large part because of the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming school year.

The company's decision was driven in part by concern for employees with children who may receive at-home instruction during the upcoming school year, the Wall Street Journal reported.

What Twitter said worked - and didn't - in its US election measures
Twitter doles out these privileges to individuals that are considered "world leaders" through their public interest policy . Approximately 74 percent of the people who viewed those Tweets saw them after we applied a label or warning message.

"I hope this will offer the flexibility you need to balance work with taking care of yourselves and your loved ones over the next 12 months", Pichai wrote. Twitter, in fact, announced back in May that its employees can continue working from home permanently.

This comes after a LADbible poll found that two thirds of people in the United Kingdom would rather work from home than return to the office in August.

Facebook has said some of its employees may work from home for the next decade, the report said.
