Matthew McConaughey Unveils A Dark Secret In New Book 'Greenlights'

Daily Mail reports that in his memoir he explains that not only was he blackmailed into having sex when he was just 15-years-old, but he was also molested when he was 18.

The Dallas Buyers Club superstar revealed another terrible episode from only 3 decades after where he had been molested by a different guy. McConaughey wrote in his memoir, "I was certain I was going to hell for the premarital sex. Whichever way it goes, I hope it's clean and that there's no debate".

Accordng to the "True Detective" star, he was "molested by a man when [he] was eighteen while knocked unconscious in the back of a van".

"I have a lot of proof that the world is conspiring to make me happy", he writes.

In his new book, Greenlights, the actor who cruised to stardom making films including 2001's The Wedding Planner, 2003's How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and 2006's Failure to Launch said he hit a wall with the film genre and no amount of money - specifically $14.5 million for two months' work - was going to change his mind.

Despite the bad incidents, he said: "I've never felt like a victim".

This is the first time that McConaughey has publicly spoken out about the sexual assault he experienced. Fourteen years ago, in 2006, he supported a program put on by the university called the Rape Elimination Program, which shuttles students home after dark if they happen to still be on campus.

McConaughey claimed Kay once broke James' nose and held a knife at him during a fight, before they had sex on the kitchen floor.

Greenlights also discusses the Hollywood star's parents' volatile marriage, his own philosophy about life, among other things.

"This is reality, but there is humanity in this reality".

McConaughey didn't give any details about his blackmailer and molester, but he made it clear about not letting the traumatic encounters stand in the way of his happiness.

The "Dallas Buyers Club" actor had another nonconsensual experience three years later. "He had a heart attack when he climaxed", Matthew said.
