Trump talks up bigger COVID-19 stimulus deal as election clock ticks

The candidates were able to tell voters where they stand on several big issues facing Kentucky.

The debate will be aired on Gray Television's Kentucky-based stations.

Yet Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has rejected such a high figure, citing opposition from a long list of conservatives in his conference.

"All along, he's playing these partisan political games".

McConnell pointed the finger at Democrats in the House of Representatives, while tying McGrath to the national Democratic Party, saying McGrath is supporting a bill that would give more money to Puerto Rico than to Kentucky. "I have a plan to get us through this coronavirus so that our schools are opened up safely, so that we get our economy back, and stop playing these games".

When the discussion turned to the Supreme Court hearings, McConnell dismissed McGrath's attempt to focus the discussion on the Supreme Court striking down the Affordable Care Act, which has been a talking point for national Democrats, saying "no one believes" the Supreme Court will strike down the Affordable Care Act.

McConnell countered that he's delivered billions of dollars in federal money that McGrath couldn't replicate if she replaces him and takes her place as a freshman on the "back bench" in the Senate. "And I try to be a good example too".

As of Friday, the state had reached 28 days without community transmission . Prime Minister Scott Morrison on the LNP campaign trail in Brisbane.

"We like stimulus, we want stimulus and we think we should have stimulus", Trump said.

Another big issue on the debate agenda was that the country has its eyes on right now - the United States Supreme Court. She now is a federal appellate court judge whose lifetime Supreme Court appointment by President Donald Trump would give conservatives a distinct 6-3 ideological advantage on the high court, likely affecting the outcome of US legal disputes for decades. "She thinks it helps her with the election", Trump said. The law is facing a new challenge in a November 10 Supreme Court hearing, by which time Barrett could hold a seat on the nine-member court.

The two candidates have different stances on many issues. McConnell is expected to stage a vote next week on a much smaller package, in the range of $500 billion. He told voters if McGrath wins, she will vote to make Senator Chuck Schumer the Senate majority leader.

"Do you want somebody from NY to be setting the agenda for America and not terribly interested in Kentucky?" "And not terribly interested in Kentucky?" asked McConnell.

McGrath responded: "Senator, you've been there for 36 years. Are you better off than you were 36 years ago?" asked McGrath.

"A deal would be hard to get done before the election, but we're going to keep trying", Mnuchin said in an interview on CNBC.

Barrett answered lawmakers' questions for hours on Tuesday and Wednesday. And in 22 days, Kentucky will have an answer.
