U.S. appeals court delays release of Ghislaine Maxwell deposition

Giuffre claimed in the suit and other litigation that Maxwell recruited her in 2000 to be a sexual servant to Epstein.

Maxwell wrote to Epstein that she would "appreciate" if a woman named "Shelley" would "come out and say" she had been Epstein's girlfriend.

The two depositions, and materials that quote from or disclose information contained in them, were expected to remain sealed at least until Monday, depending on how the appeals court rules.

They show correspondence between the pair in 2015, despite Maxwell's lawyers claiming earlier this month that she had no contact with Epstein in more than a decade.

A NY court has unsealed emails between accused sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell and her former partner, the disgraced late financier Jeffrey Epstein.

U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska, who is presiding over the now-settled defamation lawsuit, ordered the documents to be unsealed.

When asked by King whether she thought there should be men panicking over what Maxwell might tell authorities, Giuffre said she would "really hope they are".

Maxwell's attorneys have also argued against releasing documents from the deposition, saying they contain "intrusive questions about her sex life" and are "extremely personal, confidential and subject to considerable abuse by the media". He had also pleaded not guilty.

In a court filing on Friday, Giuffre's lawyers called Maxwell's appeal "frivolous, and a transparent attempt to further delay the release of documents to which the public has a clear and unequivocal right to access". The government also charges Maxwell lied during her April 2016 testimony when she denied knowing Epstein engaged in sex with underage girls or that she was present during such encounters.

Dozens of documents detailing Ghislaine Maxwell's relations with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein were released on Thursday, despite her legal team's objections. The Second Circuit Court of Appeals in NY hasn't ruled on her request.

Maxwell, and all of the accused men, have denied those allegations for years.

Giuffre has recounted how she had a job at 16 handing out towels in a spa locker room at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida before Maxwell lured her to work as a masseuse for Epstein, when he began sexually assaulting her.

Maxwell's lawyers have also accused Guiffre of leaking the deposition to set a "perjury trap" for Maxwell.

Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to Florida state charges of soliciting prostitution from minors and then got unusually lenient terms for his imprisonment in Palm Beach County, where he was allowed out during the day to work in his office six days a week.

"Ghislaine Maxwell brought me into the sex trafficking industry".

"There were blondes, there were brunettes, there were redheads", Giuffre told a United States district court in NY.
