Napoli confirm Victor Osimhen capture from Lille

Nigeria worldwide Osimhen moved to Europe in 2017 when he signed for Wolfsburg, but he was allowed to join Belgian club Charleroi on loan and they triggered a purchase option on him just a year ago after scoring 20 times in 2018-19.

It would be recalled that the former youth global made an impressive mark in France in his debut season, scoring 18 goals and six assists across competitions.

The deal could eventually reach €54m ($A89m), according to claims in Italy, making him Napoli's record signing.

He spent the 2017/18 season in Germany before moving to Charleroi on loan the following year.

The forward is close to sealing a move to the Parthenopeans for a fee believed to be around €81 million, having completed his medical with the side.

The 21-year-old has signed a five year contract with Napoli with an option for an additional year.

What could be one of the most striking transfers of this transfer market was finally completed: after a season at Lille, Victor Osimhen will play at Napoli from next season.

He made his full Nigeria debut in June 2017, and has 10 senior caps to his name thus far.

On worldwide level, Osimhen won the U-17 World Cup with Nigeria in 2015 where he ended the tournament as top scorer with 10 goals.
