Of the 410 new deaths reported till Sunday morning, 167 were in Maharashtra, 68 in Tamil Nadu and 66 in Delhi.

The number of containment zones in Delhi has risen to 417.

A total of over 3,03,000 patients have been cured of COVID-19. The US, Brazil, United Kingdom, Italy, and France have recorded the most number of deaths due to the highly contagious disease, as per details shared by the Johns Hopkins University and Medicine Coronavirus Resource Center.

Stepping up surveillance, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh will also conduct house-to-house survey like Delhi, Goa, Odisha and Jharkhand. The GOM was briefed about the status of COVID-19 cases, the recovery, mortality and doubling rates, the increased testing capacity and the strengthened healthcare infrastructure in the States. Bihar's Backward and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare Minister Vinod Kumar Singh and his wife tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday and were sent to an isolation ward at a city hotel in Katihar district, officials said. India now has 1026 diagnostic laboratories, including 741 in the government sector and 285 in the private sector, he said.

According to the government, now 1,036 diagnostic labs dedicated to COVID-19 are conducting coronavirus tests. The samples tested in the last 24 hours have further increased to 2,31,095.
