Kia Grand Carnival breaks cover - solid looker!

At the front we find the latest take on KMC's "tiger face" design language with the big people mover brandishing an equally new take on the "tiger-nose" grille finished in a new two-tone chrome mesh.

"Further enhancing its SUV-inspired design, the Carnival is finished off with a metallic lower skid plate, elevating the vehicle further and giving it a more robust appearance", KMC said in a statement.

The flanks of the Carnival feature some subtle body sculpting, highlighted by a full length parabolic line running from the back of the headlight to the start to the tail-light arrangement, taking in the rails of the sliding rear doors.

The new Symphonic Architecture design also provides a more tangible link that ties the Grand Carnival (or Sedona in other markets) to other members of the Kia family.

One look at the pictures is enough to tell Kia wants the Carnival to have even more road presence than before, and the design and styling derive influence from Kia's range of SUVs.

What about the new Kia Carnival's engine options?

Not much has been revealed about the engine of the upcoming model. Expect it to carry over the 2.2-litre diesel for select markets. The dimensions of the auto have not been revealed but the MPV is expected to have a longer wheelbase than the current model, providing more room inside the cabin. It will go on sale in its home market of South Korean in the third quarter of this year before reaching other global markets. If you're in India, however, don't hold your breath for its launch, because the new Carnival is only expected to come to India by 2022. Let us know in the comments.
