NBA Considering Shortening 19-20 Regular Season To 70 Games

National Basketball Association teams expect the league office to issue guidelines around 1 June allowing teams to begin recalling far-flung players in anticipation of resuming the coronavirus-disrupted season, ESPN reported on Wednesday. For the Sixers, this means that they can begin getting back in the gym and preparing for a resumption and finish to the 2019-20 season.

The NBA, which was the first North American professional sports league to suspend their season, has been on the shelf since Rudy Gobert's positive test prior to a Jazz-Thunder game on March 11.

Teams expect the league office to set guidelines, around June 1, that will allow them to recall players who now live out of market, according to ESPN.

And ESPN said, citing unnamed sources, many owners and club executives expect league commissioner Adam Silver to announce in June that the season will resume - with games to begin "sometime before the end of July".

According to The Athletic's report, Orlando is on track to win the bid over alternative options like Las Vegas and Houston, provided issues regarding testing and hotel use are resolved.

The mother-to-be later mentioned her boyfriend Zayn, revealing that he wouldn't recognise her following her glow up. The world is excited to meet baby Malik, but for now, Hadid is enjoying her time being pregnant.

The league has made efforts to discuss potential scenarios for finishing out the season, such as finalizing a location and ushering in new safety protocols.

The report added that Silver emphasized that in order for a return to occur, all parties would need to accept that a single positive test for COVID-19 would not derail the season. The NBA could also forgo the rest of the regular season and jump directly to the playoffs, though that wouldn't include every team unless the league got creative.

For now, though, it appears that the league is focused on restarting its competitions at Walt Disney World, and for the first time, we have a reported potential timeframe.

There is also the possibility teams outside the top eight receive an opportunity to compete for a playoff spot.
